Musically the album dips into bass heavy reggae, baile funk, electronica & trap while lyrically touching on themes of Irish emigration, addiction, heart break, conflict & hopes of peace.

The 10 track epic hosts a collection of songs written over the past decade between Ireland & India, with each song putting a spotlight on different aspects of growing up, mistakes made & lessons learned. This can be heard in lines from songs like “Hope”

“Mo chara made a mockery, dishonestly a steal, the sky fell down on top of me no that just how it feels, no thats just how it felt... time will heal like nothing else”

and in the title track

“I remember when, act tuff and we all pretend, lone wolves in the lions den, windswept by the western winds, born and bred Atlantians, cast your line when the mackerels in, fishermen never learn to swim...”

The album was produced in Galway & Goa by Cian Finn & Sarvesh Shrivastava featuring friends Mohamed Alnuma on the track "Free" & Craig Reynolds on hang drum on the title track "When we were young".

THESE MOMENTS EP

‘These Moments’ is a 5 track EP from Galwegian songwriter Cian Finn.

Cian’s first release of 2022 and precursor to a new album coming out this Spring, 'These Moments' is a body of work with a soulful cinematic feel.

The opening track ‘Like Water’ moves from lush filtered soundscapes into heavy hitting beats and percussive poetic vocals

“between the rain, another chapter, it seems insane, clicked & captured”

Each of the 5 songs touch on differant aspects of transitional moments in life. The opening lyrics of the title track

“Daylight we see colour spread like spilt ink”

sets the scene for a surreal dream like tune of nostalgia.

“These Moments don't last forever, These moments don't last long”

'Losing my way' & 'Games we play'  touch on themes of broken friendship, self doubt and insecurity while the final track ‘As Times Change’ is a homage to the transition from one generation to next.

’the next generation sits and waits to take hold of the reins...”

“wind skims the sea like rock, hushed words the people talk, waves of a new age shock for every generation its the same...”

Cian Finn's These Moments Ep will be available exclusive as a digital release on the Emerald Isle Records Bandcamp page from Feb 3rd followed by a limited edition vinyl pressing later in the year.
